New Facebook Call-To-Action Button

Facebook recently introduced a new ‘Call-to-Action’ button that provides users with a seamless way of visiting your website. The button appears at the bottom right of the page’s cover photo, directly to the left of the share button. Because of it’s location, it is possibly one of the first things that will catch the attention of users visiting your page. The button allows guests to make their way over to your website if they are interested in booking a room.

Once the button becomes available to you, it is very easy to set up. Look to the bottom right of the cover photo on your profile page. You will see a button that says ‘Create Call-to-Action.’

Once you click ‘Create Call-to-Action,’ a pop-up will appear. First, choose a button. Since hotels are all about driving more direct bookings, select the ‘Book Now’ button. Enter your website followed by your mobile website if you do not have a responsive website then click next.

On the next screen, you are able to choose whether iPhone mobile users will be directed to your website or to an app. If you would like users to be directed to your website, go ahead and click next. If you would like them to be directed to your mobile app, select ‘App’ from the drop-down. Under ‘App Link’ section, add the iOS a deep link URL for your app. Make sure your website is listed under ‘Backup Destination’ in case there is a problem with the app. Click next and repeat the same information for Android users, then click ‘Create.’

Once the button is created, a ‘Book Now’ button will now appear in place of the ‘Create a Call-to-Action’ button.

The new button is useful for hoteliers because it will give some data as to how many users from Facebook are interested in booking with the hotel. Hoteliers can easily view the number clicks the ‘Book Now’ button received in the past 7 days. The button is higher up on the profile and more visible than a ‘Book Now’ app and will assist in encouraging guests to book directly with the hotel.

*Note: The button has not been rolled out to all pages yet, so if you currently do not have an option to create a Call-to-Action button, please be patient. Check your Facebook regularly and you should be given the option to create one within the next few weeks.
